Win Green With Your Pledge

Little Planet TRU

Complete the pledge form PDF and email it to unitedway@tru.ca to be entered for a "Green" prize draw!

Green and Red are the perfect holiday match!

Make your United Way pledge by email instead of paper and you’ll be entered to win a “green” prize for the holidays!

In order to support our internal drive to limit waste and promote giving, we are asking you to make your donation by filling out the pledge form and emailing it to Debbie Blackwell at unitedway@tru.ca.

This will cut down the amount of unnecessary printing and will support TRU’s efforts to reduce our environmental impact. This November’s United Way campaign drive has motivated us at TRU to be more conscious and thankful of everyday things that we may take for granted like food, clothing and even our natural resources.

Be good to your earth, your community and yourself!

$10,000 Available For Youth Projects

Katie S Raylene and Vanessa

Apply to the United Way for up to $1500 to support your local youth group.

TELUS and Interior Savings are sponsoring youth grants so United Way can allocate up to $1,500 to individual youth groups in the Thompson Nicola Cariboo region. Anyone under the age of 25 with a locally-focused project can apply before December 2nd to put their ideas into action in 2012. Interested youth are invited to contact youth@unitedwaytnc.ca for an application package.

Teams of youth, working in partnership with sponsor organizations, can apply for grants to address important social issues like poverty, diversity, and health and well-being.

“Today’s youth represent our future workforce and the future leaders of our community,” said Gene Creelman, Interior Savings’ VP of Marketing and Communications. “The youth grants program provides a safe environment for these young people to stretch themselves and develop leadership and life skills that they can only get through real-life experiences.”

The United Way works to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. United Way affects change in three focus areas: growing up great, poverty to possibility, and strong communities.
